These breaks make the movie less "Hollywood-like", and instead make it feel as if you are watching actual events happening. When one watches 28 Days Later, they do jump for the occasional zombie attack, but there are many breaks between such attacks.
While the cameras and actors the directors chose for each of the movies were very different, probably a larger difference between the two movies is the style of horror they use. Danny Boyle, on the other hand, used a combination of 35mm cameras and digital video camera that allowed him and his crew to create a grittier-feeling movie with 28 Days Later. The use of 35mm cameras makes the movie feel very clean and professional. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo used standard 35mm widescreen cameras for almost all of 28 Weeks Later. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, on the other hand, used actors and actresses like Robert Carlyle, The Full Monty and Eragon, and Rose Byrne, Star Wars Episode II and Troy, who had experience with larger films.Īnother main difference between the two movies is the way the directors decided to shoot the movies. In 28 Days Later, Brendan Gleeson was the only character who had previously worked in big-ticket movies such as Mission Impossible II and AI: Artificial Intelligence. The first major difference is that Danny Boyle, the man in the glasses, directed 28 Days Later, while Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the man in the black t-shirt, directed 28 Weeks Later. While 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later are two stories with connected plots, there are many differences between the two movies.
